Our signature antique vehicles are a fun way to get around Katama! With regular and special runs, these vintage rides are memorable for young and old!
Our signature Water Taxi cruise into Edgartown offers guests a memorable ride into town for a night of shopping, dining, ice cream, or cocktails. Return trips are offered on our regular shuttle from Main Street back to the hotel.
We provide complimentary shuttle service for our guests from the Winnetu Oceanside Resort directly to Main Street in downtown Edgartown. During the summer, this service operates hourly during the day and every half hour during the evening. The shuttle operates less frequently during the spring and autumn seasons- check with our concierge for dates and times.
Biking is our favorite way to get around the island. We encourage you to bring your own bicycle or rent from Martha’s Vineyard Bike Rentals. If you choose to rent, M.V. Bike Rentals will deliver your ride to the Winnetu where it will be waiting for you upon arrival. Visit M.V. Bike Rentals at their website or call them directly at 800-627-2763.
MV Island Auto Rental leases right from the Winnetu! Rent a car or a jeep with beach permits from their on-site agent and explore the island for the day or take a Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator for over-sand beach driving at Norton Point! Choose our Arrive & Drive Option and leave your car on the mainland. MV Auto Rental will have your rental vehicle waiting for you at the ferry.
New this season is our SemaConnect Electric Vehicle Charging Station. Charging is complimentary to guests and patrons.
The Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA) is a convenient and easy way to get anywhere on the island. With a stop on VTA’s Route 8 just outside the Winnetu Oceanside Resort, it’s a breeze for our guests to use. For more schedules, rates, and more information, visit their website.

Before Winnetu (approx. 150 years ago), the Mattakeset Lodge was the place to spend the summer months in Katama. The hotel was famous for its clambakes, dances, and ocean breezes.
