Winnetu is nestled into a quaint corner on the island of Martha’s Vineyard where farmland meets the dunes of South Beach. Miles of shoreline bordering Katama Bay and the Atlantic Ocean are just out our front door.
With 11 acres fronting South Beach, Winnetu offers guests one-of-a-kind access to one of the island’s best beaches. Grab a Winnetu picnic basket, a complimentary beach chair, and spend the day by the ocean.
Life in Katama is a little slower, a little more relaxed. Aside from the beach, our corner of the island is known for its rural charm. You’ll find the grass-strip Katama Airfield and its antique bi-planes around the corner from us; The FARM Institute, and the Katama General Store, all within a walk or bike ride around the Katama Loop.
Enjoy life at one of Martha’s Vineyard’s most spectacular beaches and you’ll only be a short jaunt to historic downtown Edgartown, where you’ll find the old mansions of Whaling Captains, wonderful restaurants, and the island’s best shopping.

Before Winnetu (approx. 150 years ago), the Mattakeset Lodge was the place to spend the summer months in Katama. The hotel was famous for its clambakes, dances, and ocean breezes.
