We offer a convenient on-island pick-up/drop-off service for our guests utilizing Island Queen ferry from Falmouth, so long as the boat/transfer reservation is pre-reserved with us. The crossing time takes 35 minutes and we pick up and drop off at the island ferry terminal, making it easy to get to/from Winnetu Oceanside Resort. Winnetu offers all day shuttle service between the resort and Main Street Edgartown and also offers on-site car rentals. Click here for details and to book now.

If you do choose to bring a car to the island, auto reservations are require and should be made as soon as possible with the Steamship Authority. The Steamship Authority operates the only automobile ferry service to the island from Woods Hole on Cape Cod. These large vessels operate hourly, year-round.

To arrange auto reservations, contact the Steamship Authority by either calling them directly at (508) 477-8600 or booking on-line via their website. Reservations for passengers are unnecessary.

Note: When you inquire about your automobile reservation, if you can’t get your first request, ask to have your name put on the Waiting List. It usually works out very well and, more often than not, you’ll get the reservation time you desire. By selecting a preferred Wait List time range, your reservation’s departure time will be automatically changed if a time becomes available.

We’re excited to offer on-site car rentals from MV Auto Rental Rentals with oversand permits.

Leave your car on the mainland and arrange to have your rental vehicle waiting for you at the ferry. Convenient vehicle pick-up and drop-off also available right from the Winnetu.
